Fees, Retainer Agreements & Hourly Consultation

Jeremiah J. Shea’s Immigration Consultant fees vary depending on application type, estimated time involved and case complexity.

Mr. Shea’s retainer fees reflect a) his level of experience and knowledge and b) the amount of time required to provide his retained clients with the necessary attention to prepare an accurate, high-quality submission. One of his key objectives is to make the immigration process less complicated and frustrating for selected clients.

You may wish to begin with an initial consultation to discuss your circumstances, goals and options. During the consultation Mr.Shea will thoroughly review your situation and let you know his recommendations on how best to proceed, including the possibility of becoming one of Mr. Shea’s clients.

Mr. Shea works closely with his clients through each step of the immigration process, from initial application preparation (based on a comprehensive review of one’s personal situation), to formal application submission to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), to following up with IRCC until a final decision is made.

Mr. Shea will ensure your best case strategy is developed based on his comprehensive knowledge of the current requirements for your application category.  He will also confirm that the correct documents are submitted and that the required forms are prepared correctly. His submission will make the strongest case possible for issuance of the requested document/visa.  Finally, he will ensure that all communication from IRCC regarding your application is conveyed to you promptly and that an appropriate response is made as quickly as possible.

If Mr. Shea selects you as a client he will enter into a formal Retainer Agreement (RA) with you in accordance with the Retainer Agreement Regulation of the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC). Alternatively, should you decide to begin with a one hour consultation you will be asked to sign an Initial Consultation Agreement (ICA). Once you sign the RA/ICA Mr. Shea will send you a payment invoice via Freshbooks for a deposit to be held by Mr. Shea in accordance with ICCRC’s Client Account Regulations.

You may pay with any major credit card using Freshbooks secure on-line payment process or, if you reside in Canada, via Interac e-Transfer. Otherwise, you may pay via bank-to-bank transfer or Paypal.

The initial deposit and subsequent payments are charged for Mr. Shea’s immigration consultation services.  They are not paid for the Canadian government’s decision on an immigration application. Federal and provincial government decisions cannot be guaranteed by an immigration consultant nor an immigration lawyer.

Fees are non-refundable in the event of a negative decision.  Similarly ICCRC’s regulations prohibit contingency billing, i.e., payment only upon a successful decision by the government.
